Keynotes, speeches, and workshops

No matter the subject, my audience will be motivated by emphasizing the "why" and by engaging them to consider the benefits of doing things slightly differently.
I have enjoyed being invited to speak at 25+ international conferences, from Chicago to Kuala Lumpur, and internally at everything from OMX C20 companies' executive leadership teams to 20-employee companies' pre-weekend social events.  Keynotes or tailored workshops. It is always a pleasure to inspire and challenge.

Audience outcome

The goal is not entertainment alone.

The audience should leave with sharper language for risks, patterns and governance problems they may already sense but struggle to name.

Inspirations

What if ”cost overruns” are not the problem?

If you go beyond the classical financial control measures, a new world with powerful opportunities opens up.

How to spot when a project is on disaster course

There are easy patterns that you can recognize, if you know them...

Hype overdoze??  How to deal with it

"This "hype" will solve all your problems! We have heard this so many times that we intuitively avoid it. But they all come with something good. I suggest a more constructive approach to harvest the benefits, without getting religious.

How you fail if you confuse quality with compliance

Quality is goodness, fitness for use. Compliance is adherence to a reference/standard/.. Confusing the terms has great consequences but can be avoided.

Get ready for the AI exploitation journey

AI is a blessing and a curse. I have been searching for smart ways of working in my entire career, and here we have AI. I am equally enthusiastic and scared. And exhausted from keeping myself up to speed with the development. One wrong assumption, and you may miss the great potential or jeopardize your entire business.

How do you need to be challenged?

Spot and avoid optimism bias

Underestimation is a root cause of failed projects and is deeply ingrained in human nature. Learn how avoid the traps with knowledge from the latest research in optimism bias.

Quality – real quality – is always good business

We need to kill the "but quality is expensive" attitude, because the opposite is much more true: Bad quality is expensive.

Pros and cons of process management

Standard processes are considered a pain in the butt and the key to efficiency. Both are true, depending on the context. But when should you deploy, and when should you avoid?

The curse and blessings of agile

The agile movement brings solutions to the most relevant problems, but not all of them. And there are pitfalls in the implementation that create new problems and kill the benefits.

Four levels of AI exploitation and what to do on each

Your AI exploitation strategy depends heavily on how far you are on the journey. I introduce a four-level model and challenge your next step.

What executive management must know to support agile projects instead of killing them

Your project governance clashes with agile projects. I will tell you why.

Next step

Book a 20-minute sponsor control call.

In 20 minutes, we can usually clarify:

  • what the project is trying to achieve

  • what currently worries you

  • what the governance structure is expected to control

  • where I would initially look for weak signals

  • whether a Governance X-ray or further sparring is relevant

No long sales process.

No theatre.

Just a first professional conversation about whether your current governance gives you the control you need.
